Am I eligible to receive groceries?


All residents of McLeod County MN may receive groceries. 

MEFS recognizes that food is a basic human need and will accommodate each individual & situation as best we can. 

Non-residents will receive information for their area foodshelf resource.

What do I need to pick up groceries?


Please provide a current physical address in McLeod County, MN and have the name and date of birth information for all household members available at intake.  

Groceries are packed in recycled boxes and bags as available. You may provide your own container. 

How often may I pick up groceries?


You may pick up regular groceries once every 30 days and can plan to receive at least a 3-5 day food supply for your household. 

Weekly “Produce only” pick-ups are welcomed within the 30 day window. Availability will vary daily.

What types of foods are available?


Distributions are completed through client choice shopping and consist of canned, dry, or shelf stable foods, fresh or frozen meats, dairy options such as milk & cheese, breads and bakery, and fresh produce. Toiletries and household products are distributed as available.

How long will shopping take?


Most clients spend approximately 20-30 minutes from check in to weigh out. Times may be longer so remaining flexible and patient is recommended. Please arrive no earlier or later than 1/2 hour from the posted operating hours. This allows clients to complete shopping without being rushed.

Can I send someone else to pick up for me?


Yes. Please make physical address and household member information available to the person picking up on your behalf. Phone calls are encouraged if additional requests are necessary.
